Wind of light Moth column in swarming flight Fecund little patch of sky Oh to love love by the blind building side To love love in the darkening pines In the highway tongue The internebular hum The rainbow-leaking oil drum Oh to love love by the blind building side To love love in the darkening pines In the lines gouged by the trailer hitch The pearl-mussels in the drainpipe ditch Here I scratched my name in the mirror I scratched my name in the fluorescent glow Swarm column moths for a halo Oh, Tlatilco Texaco... The eyes in my palms They eyes in my palms What have I ever done? What have I ever done? Oh, Tlatilco Texaco... In the darkening pines The wind of light Fluorescent glow Swarm column moths for a halo Oh, Tlatilco Texaco...

All her ocotillo eyelashes in bloom Her clicking cactus thorn tongues, her capillary desert broom And in the coral of her veins, in a salt bed of skin She writhes in the dust and she thrashes in the wind All her features iridescent in display Feathers grafted to rock, eyes twitching in the shade And with her muscle stretched on fence, and barbs in her hair Lung-thickets clot in hot and breathless air Her body of bodies recomposed With ribbons of fat and ornamental trash A garden that glitters with her tossed-off flesh A peacock that stalks through coals of glowing ash Flash of eyelash in the candlewood shrine That follows you following her bloodline Cross Sonora without stepping on a face Squeeze the fat from the rock, crush the thorns up into paste Follow tidal drifts of bone, and sun-bleach of skin Lake of her heart in the unforgiving wind A garden of ornamental flesh With ribbons of trash in glittering repose A body that's grafted on the ocotillos That shines like an eel in the trunk-twisted shadows Flash of feathers in the shallows where you stood Purr and rattle of the ocellated wood You're tangled in some coral vine That you followed down her bloodline

Full as ever was the ornamental belly Watch it swell with gold leaf kale and ivory rice The mirrored room, the offering of a squid The raw mosaic of all the pearls she hid Thickened olive oil and moisturizing jelly Some confusion with the laying on of hands The bowl of ink, the ultrasounding dye The squid watches through its open eye Far beneath the frozen surface of the ocean There's a holy congress of the warm-blooded destitute Culling images of silhouettes in motion It's the heart beating in the cold-clouded pearl The heart beating in the pearl Thickened olive oil and ultrasounding jelly Full as ever was the ornamental belly It's the heart beating in the cold-clouded pearl The heart beating in the cold-clouded pearl

There is a cavern filled with bones beyond the pasture gate Where the jewel beetles shine like the eyes of the saints Priscilla pricks her thumbs with cactus thorns to concentrate A blood that's not my blood but her blood in the veins of the cave Find her in a field of milk-white nettle Shrouded in a tent of caterpillar silk Priscilla's brother fears no judgment from his images The tangled pile of parts, the grub worms of pillowy flesh He takes the bull by the nostrils, he pacifies his villages He draws a blood that's not my blood from the veins of the gash Find him in a field of sun-white cattle Shrouded in a tent of caterpillar silk So I drape myself in gold brocaded cloth And moth-eaten pillowcases Silk of the unshrouded birth And I eat my way through clods of marauded dirt And burnt pleading faces To the jeweled caverns of the earth To be borne away Find them in a field of milk-white nettle Shrouded in a tent of caterpillar silk
